The Rotary Foundation announced on 6 May the recipient of the 2026 Programs of Scale grant, Collaboration for Sustainable Water and Sanitation Systems in Haiti. By expanding people’s access to water, sanitation, and hygiene, increasing demand for these services, and strengthening the governance of local water systems, this program aims to improve living conditions and reduce the incidence of waterborne disease by 25% in three local government areas in Haiti.

In addition, the Foundation named the two finalists:

• Home Management of Malaria in Papua New Guinea aims to reduce malaria cases and improve community health for 500,000 people. The program will train 2,100 community malaria volunteers to diagnose and treat people at home in more than 1,000 villages.
• Empowering Highland Communities in Thailand aims to transform 126 villages inhabited by highland peoples by establishing community-owned water and sanitation systems and strengthening community-based enterprises centered on coffee cultivation, livestock production, and traditional crafts.
