On 24 September 2024, RI President Stephanie Urchick declared Sangkoo Yun to be the official nominee for President of Rotary International for 2026-27.

The Nominating Committee for President of RI selected Yun, a member of the Rotary Club of Sae Hanyang, Seoul, Korea in August.  He will be formally elected at the 2025 RI Convention in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and will become president on 1 July 2026.
